rave reviews: psychotrope 6

How did people enjoy psychotrope?

Floyd, Andrew and I went; I thought it was pretty kick-ass.

We got there about 12-1 ish. Happily there were still tix at the door for me and Andrew, who hadn't bought in advance.

I liked just about everything about this rave. The location was awesome: one big room with lots of space to dance in and lots of different, fun things to look at (good for people like me with short attention spans and a liking for variety and sparkly things :-) The organisers did a really good job with decorations; they had all kinds of funky fluorescent artwork hanging from the ceilings and walls, and soft, bright orange gimongo triangular cushions strewn about the room. The shelf in the middle of the dancefloor where you leave your water-bottle was a nice touch.

This was advertised as a goa party; I hadn't heard goa before, and I found it pretty cool. There was a live performance by Tribal Quest; during a particularly intense set, the DJ suddenly silenced the music and this group of 10-20 drummers suddenly kicks in like--bang!, and it was *soooo* good. The drummers also played along with a lot of the music during the night.

The crowd was mostly friendly and fun, apart from a few whacked out speed freaks (one girl seemed to have spent the entire evening ramming straight into dancers, pacing from one end of the room to the other; security ended up taking her away.) A really nice boy was handing out pixie sticks on the dancefloor (remind me to bring something fun to give away at my next rave), lots of people offered me water when I looked thirsty, and lots of people kindly inquired about whether my needs were covered in the psychotropic department. ;-)

Does anyone know if these organisers throw any other parties than psychotrope? I definitely don't want to miss the next one.
